David Nworie is a geoscientist, community advocate, and passionate youth leader from Nigeria. He currently serves as President of the Green Network Initiative (GNI), where he leads the organization’s vision, strategy, and partnerships. His work focuses on identifying the most pressing needs in underserved communities and helping design practical, youth-led solutions that address those challenges.
David brings a wealth of experience in research, project development and management, service, policy, advocacy, and leadership. He began organizing community projects in Nigeria as a college student, coordinating student drives and educational outreach missions. Over the years, he has grown from a college volunteer into a regional voice for sustainable development, working with partners across education, community, health, and environmental sectors.
Now a PhD candidate in Geology at the Colorado School of Mines in the U.S., David combines scientific training with a heart for social impact. He has worked on research projects across Africa, Europe, South and North America and serves on leadership teams for both academic and nonprofit initiatives.
At GNI, David is responsible for strategic planning, donor engagement, team leadership, and ensuring that each project reflects the organization’s values.
Above all, he believes in contributing to society in any way possible and building systems that help make life better and easier for others. His greatest reward is seeing young people step into their own leadership, and creating the kind of impact that lasts.
